Today I was out walking in the badlands and found some deer beds and two of them had drops of blood in them. I was wondering if they could of been bucks that dropped there antlers. Will they bleed and for how long.

I had the same experiecne today while out looking around, and they also were in a bedding area. Twice I started following a small trail of blood, but never came up on anything. I thought either a winterkill possibly, or else maybe a fresh shed that had bled.

It is possible...some bucks bleed quite a bit when they drop...others dont bleed much.
I have heard of guys following blood trails in the snow that lead back to an antler.
I would do a quick search around the area and see what dropped...if anything

Dont forget the "cycle" of a female deer. Thats probably what your seeing... however, I have found sheds in deer beds where there was blood in them.

I think if your seeing a decent amount of blood, browtine is right, probably a doe. I found a large spot of blood this weekend in an elk bed. At first I thought it was blood from a horn, but then realized it probably wouldnt bleed that much. What do I know though!
