Curious how the bull is wedged into the base of the tree trunk.
Strange how some animals meet their fate. Great looking dead
head for sure.

Hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like he could have slipped and gotten in a position where he couldn't get back up. Could you tell when you got to him? Looks like a rough spot, doesn't even look like the scavengers were willing to go into that canyon :) Great find!

Idaho bull. He seen this bull alive. He was limping real bad and was barely moving. Glassed him from across the canyon and seen him fall down. It looked like later that night he moved around that dead tree and fell sliding down into that wedge. Can't tell from the pics but its about a 15 foot drop and his legs were hanging over it
I think the bull had some internal issues and smelled a little sour. Had winter ticks all over him. Have you guys seen much of those?

Girlfriend did all right til the Gerber lock blade saw through the cerebral part. But she is a trooper. She can outhike me any day. That's why I ride a horse :)

Cool find. I like the first pic. Thats one great lookin bull though, kinda sucks he went this winter. But I gotta admit, feels kinda good to know the wolves didnt get him.
