You, The Next Guy and frankly all of us NEVER are shown or Told about things that are not akin to normal local social topics acceptable in our local cultural conversations we have with people we communicate with. I guess I may be opening a Box no one wishes to hear or think about until our LOCAL TV news educates us on.
Is The South China Sea On The Brink Of War a new subject to you..?
I would normally NOT Need to Desire to listen to the following "BUT" to me, China fired it's Shot: Covid #19 at "THE GLOBE" . That was their 1st Shot. Now the following:
Ignore the above is easy. Learning more is harder plus, if you wrote a letter of concern to your Congressman/woman or Senator.. Wondering if our Local News Media would investigate. The Media Can Be our best safety Folks.

1. Many, many more infections than originally thought. 20%??
2. Even more without symptoms
3. Death rate far lower than thought
4. Hospital system will not go belly up.
5. Maybe not lab produced.
6. Not released on purpose
7. The economy of China will take a dump
8. No war with China
9. US will see a bit more socialism in government.
10. Interest rates may stay lower
11. Taxes....up.
12. States will seek help from uncle sugar
13. S&P has reached a low, or near low.
14. Many businesses will relocates stateside. See #7.
15. More tariffs.
16. Materialism...'wretched excess' will decline
17. More tele-work.
18. Bad Korea changes leadership.
19. Low fuel prices will stay for awhile.
20. Bessy will get his pisscutter this year.

Been reading about the south China Sea, the militarization of the islands, etc., for a few years. Add Russian hypersonic missiles, Chinese hypersonics, etc. That's why I come to MM,to get away from the doom and gloom. I feel better after reading about someone else's big buck or bull, than reading about communist weapons, and world domination plans.

I believe China saw they were facing an economic hit if they acted to contain Wuhan flu.
So, they decided to export it so everyone could be on the same page as them. A strategic decision.
It may have backfired though as Britain seems to have grown a set on Huawei. Australia is openly hostile. As is New Zealand.
It hurt Iran pretty badly. If it hurts Russia, China might find it stands alone rather quickly.

I had wondered what ALL Nations might do if, China was Blamed..?
My founding thoughts are we know the Treaty of Versailles Caused another War. I think it took Germany all the way up to 2010 to pay that debt. So..???... What Earthly manners could everyone seriously hold China; To Pay..???

The conspiracy theory is that China did this on purpose as their economy was going down the last six months before this pandemic. So they released this virus so that our economy and others would tank and give them a chance to catch up.
Once all of the rest of the world is dealing with this virus they have already come out of it on the other end and are the only ones who can produce products to export.
I don' trust the Chinese they talk out of both ends of their mouth...

Whether the Chi-coms released the 'rona or not, it is bad for them. This has opened the eyes of Americans about our unhealthy trade relationship, and may even open a few eyes about Chinese influence (as mentioned) geopolitically.
And for sure China has suffered a black eye PR wise, which wIll only matter as long as people remember it. For it to have lasting impact, gap toothed rednecks like me have to keep hollerin about Chinese crap.
Start by giving Walmart the finger. They just invested nearly $500 million in new facilities in and around Wuhan. Remember that the next time you are waiting on an "associate" in your run-down store.
