Cow elk tag 6c - first time

Hey all so I just moved here from Texas last year and I drew a cow elk tag for 6C. I am hoping I can fill my freezer with some good meat!

I booked my hotel in Los Alamos and will be hunting out of there, hugging along the valles caldera.

What I need advice on is where to park to hike in? I dont have a four wheel drive right now, so hopefully I can find a good entry point to park. I dont mind a hike and pack. Any tips on where to park to get along the western border of the valles caldera?

Any spots where cows should be found this time of year? My tag is for nov 24-28.
