Well since you guys are complaining its slow here i'll add something to the site for once ;)

Moved up to Alaska with dreams of untouched shed grounds. Boy was I wrong. I'll have to say the competition up here is worse that the states. Up here there are guys that use planes to find them. Not to mention argos, snowmachines, 4 wheelers etc. Add in that a lot of these guys do not have jobs and theres very little bone left for the rest of us......

But alas we still find a few here and there. Not the numbers like in the states but I think we have you beat pound for pound ;).

Enjoy.

Feel free to post your favorite pics from this spring here. Bearcat, I want to see your elk shed pic here :D!

Wow, you could find one giant moose antler and have to make one trip to pack it out to the truck and then come back for your camp. Impressive! Thanks for the pictures. I love to see pictures from Alaska. fatrooster.

Hey Man you know I am not about posting pictures!!! Just not me. It is not cause I hate giving anything away (not many secrets anymore), just too many people on this site tend to cut them down in every way possible--that is the reason I like the story I am doing on the Hunting Adventures (THE GREAT ADVENTURE) because no one can comment- ha ha ha.

But for you..........

For WYODEERHUNTER!!! (should you not be call AKMOOSEHUNTER now?

A good hunt!

Bearcat,
That was a fun trip! Can't wait till next year.

I sure do feel blessed to have great shed hunting buddies down in the states and up here in AK. Life couldn't be better!

Antlers_Ink,
That first ATL is SICK!!! I love it. One thing I never found was an elk shed tines down like that. That side by side set is sweet. Gotta love it when they drop like that.

Keep them coming boys! I'll post more when I get time.

Ernesto

Hey Bearcat, why don't you cut your grass? And your fence doesn't look straight! Thats what you get for posting pics! Just joking, ha ha. Don't worry about what people say, us civil people love to see everybodies pictures. fatrooster.

FR there is one in every bunch--ha ha ha!!! No worries I am pretty thick skinned just bugs me sometimes.

Here is the one time E beat me, but hey you have to let the young generation THINK they are better sometimes.

I've received a lot of "flack" for posting these pics but oh well. I enjoy reading this website and seeing all the pictures and I'm over all the "BS" people cause over shed hunting.

I've met some of my closest friends on forums such as these and I'd be damn if I'm going to stop posting in fear (or paranoia) of someone finding "a spot".

If you do see me in the hills come over and say hi, always love meeting other hunters.

Ernesto

B-tine,
Good to see your still alive! I'm sure life has you busy like the rest of us.

If you have max deer points for wyo we should talk about a hunt where you bearcat and I can go shoot some big ones :D

Ernesto

LAST EDITED ON Jun-12-10 AT 08:33AM (MST)[p]Wyodeer now you tell me you have that picture!! You have been holding out on me.

Yeah that was a great buck, thanks for helping me look for the other side for 6 weeks+!!!!

I may get this wrong but here is the quote from Yelum. A young guy walks up to Yelum at the sports show and is shooting the bull and proceeds to show Yelum a picture of this buck alive and said say something about he know exactly where the sheds should be. He comes across like he is the best shed hunter and knows everything, so Yelum ask what state the buck is in as he too also has seen this buck and wanted to verify. Well the kid says something to the regards of "why would I tell some UTARD where he is at" Now I totally and so does Yelum understand, that most people do not give out their spots, but how we say that shows our maturity. Now comes the classic response from Yelum. As this punk kid is walking away Yelum yells " well I am not sure exactly where it is but I can tell you that the right side scored 95!!!! I guess the kid spun around and was all eager now to talk to him, which Yelum just kicked his cart around and drove off----PRICELESS.

Here is the buck alive sorry but the only picture I have. Thank Yelum for the pictures!!

dang hornkiller thats some rocky stuff your hunting. I bet if your around there when they are shedding you could just listen for them falling hahahaha

nice sheds! thanks for sharing

Great pics and stories guys.

Bear, thats funny, I had forgot all about that. Don't give me any credit for the pic. It's not mine. I think a guy named Brian Cook took it.

Yelum

Hornkiller I have looked at your pictures a couple of times and JUST noticed the other deer horn in the first one. LOVE IT.

Well guys I finally did the dirty dead but before I did I took a picture. About 3-4 years worth of horn to the sellers. Wished I could have kept them but what is a guys supposed to do.

The pile is 4 ft tall and 9 ft long to give you an idea.

B

Bearcat--Did you count all those bones? That is a heck of a pile! Ok, let's start your "Guess the pile" game. I'm saying
864 bones in that pile. :)

Weeeeell.... I did not sell my pile. I was just trying to get Wyodeerhunters goat.

It would take me hours and hours to tear that pile apart, so guessing would not work..
