I have a teaching job offer in Council....Would this be a good place to live and hunt being I am an avid outdoors person. Any help would be appreciated....

love to hunt bears...........you would not have to travel far to get into good mullies and elk would you?

Adams County has produced more B&C bucks than any other county in Idaho. Unfortunatly most of those were from the good ole days. If you are worried about moving to a place with no hunting opportunities, I wouldn't worry. Do a little research on the F&G website.

I have been to & thru council for the last 30 years really small town..they have a 2 little grocery stores a few gas stations an atv dealer that also sells chain saws..the closest place to get any real bargains on almost everything is ontario oregon 70 miles south..but as far as hunting & fishing goes right in the middle of it all..they changed that whole unit {22} too a forkie hunt only last year it is draw only for elk with rifle or muzzy either sex archery elk..excellent bear & turkey hunting..lots of ponds lakes & streams for fishing..if u are into small city living & driving a long ways to go to a movie or too shop this is a great place if I was retired I wouldnt hesitate...lots of city folks built cabins all over that area..it is also some killer snowmobiling country

I'd live there in a heartbeat......little community with good people, your a hrs drive from excellent salmon and steelhead fishing, theres good hunting around there also, if your an archery hunter the opportunitys are endless, rifle on the other hand, unit 22 is forkie only but theres plenty other units close by with other opportunitys as well. If you like small town rural living, I would jump on it if the price is right..

Hey ni**** Dean,, i thought you already took the job..
Call me boy,,Let me know how things are going..

actually did..........then Lisa's mom got a terminal cancer..Superintendent was gracious enough to hire a temp one year person and is letting me start in August.... life has been crazy. I hope I am still able to go.....plan on spending the first week of April in Council..... hows thing going ty man? how is red?
