Could he be the Same Buck?

What do you guys think? This shed was found in the fall of '02 in the same general area as a buck I filmed this week. It has some striking similiarities. The cheater that is on the G4 of the shed is actually on the inline/G4(?) of the buck that I've been watching. The shed was really green and we thought it had been on the ground for a couple of years. But, you never know, sometimes they turn green fast around here. Even if it was shed the winter of '02 this would be 3 years latter. Will a big buck maintain the same structure for that many years? Or is this just evidence of his offspring?
BTW, the shed scores 103 6/8 to give you a idea of size.

just a guess..but I would say same gentics and not the same deer. One of the big things that stand out to me is his 4th... The shed has one..the live bucks 4th is less defined (if that makes sense)..

It's had to tell from the pics but he does have crab clawed splits on both his fronts. I'm wondering if the inline could have been his 4th and has just moved further back on the mainbeam??? Who knows? I guess I'll have a better idea when I pick up the sheds this year eh? (Cross my fingers) :)

wouldnt that be a dream set of sheds!! I wish you the best.. And pic em up early before the roadants get knawing on them. Any guess on his score??? He looks like an absolute brute..you saw him in person and I would suspect the pics do him no justice..whats he gonna score???

Brandon,
I haven't broke down the video yet to do a tine by tine measurement of him but my gut is telling me he's somewhere in the 210-220 gross range. I saw him only one day last year and he did the disappearing act on me. Have no idea where he shed but spent many many man hours scouring the hill to no avail. Hopefully he sticks around long enough to drop where I've seen him. Even at that it is no guarantee I'll find them. Found a huge typical shed right there in '02. Put in over 40 hours that spring trying to find the match. No luck. Have shed hunted it hard in both 03 and 04 and still no luck. Amazing how those suckers disappear like that. But maybe I'll get lucky and find this big NT's sheds early.

Steve-Ive been working a little with my border collie over the last few days, im gonna try and get him in shed hunting shape for this sheddin season. I will bring him up there and we'll see if he can pick up some tine for ya. I think he will do really good if we start him off in a moose area and go from there. Hopefully the training will pay off!

I think it is possible that it is the same buck. I hope to see the pic of the hard evedence this spring. Good luck

One other thing that I would say is not the same buck would be the video seems to have a lot of palmation. I would guess not the same but possible on the genetics.

Just my thoughts

Wow, that is an awesome buck you got there on vid! Sweet!

Not sure about the shed being his, definitely possible! Find them dogs matched this year!!!
