This is something that has been in the works for a while. They build their economy on eco-tourism so most of the country is protected federal land. The government is one of the most liberal in the world.

That blows. I was gonna head down there next year to get my fix of slaughtering some sloths and armadillo's.

I'm not sure what the difference between "recreational hunting" and hunting for the purpose of "culling" is though. I don't know any "recreational" hunters. It makes it seem like some are out there just to kill something and leave it lay. Idiots....
