Contact SFW and ask them for the truth.

I decided to not just mouth off, but go a little further. I used SFW's contact form on their website to ask them about THE DON's decision that current game managment is socialist and underperforming and should be replaced with private landowners being in charge of game management(funny if you consider that 70% of Utah is publically owned including most of SFW's big money favorites like the Henries, Pahvant, and Monroe). I challenged SFW to post an outline on there website outlining THE DONS "vision for the future". I urge others to do the same. Perhaps we can get another "dog and pony show", like THE DONS last one about transparency. I will post any response I get.

When they came for the road hunters I was not one so I said nothing. When they came for the oppurtunists I was not one so I said nothing. When they came for the public land hunters I was not one so I said nothing. When they came for me there was no one left to say anything!

I personally think that " The great DON" is just a wolf in Sheep's Clothing when it comes to taking Utah's "PUBLIC" animals and selling them to the Highest bidder!!!!

Don (or whoever within SFW) who do you truly think the Average Joe is????

How can you seriously claim to be protecting Utah's wildlife from wolves yet then take them from the general public and move them to private ownership??? Can you truly sleep at night knowing what you are truly doing? I guess the answer is yes since you have been doing it for how long???

Sportsmen in UTAH and the WEST, when are we going to stand up and tell him where to go when it comes to management of OUR wildlife???

I'll tell you what......I moved up to Idaho a year and a half ago and i am dumbfounded how horrible the deer hunting is here. I have not heard ONE good thing about it from the locals who have hunted here all their lives.
I'd give almost anything to move back to my home state and enjoy the "what seems now like fantastic hunting" in a state where tags are "pimped out by Satan himself"!!

I would be curious if THE DON has thought this one through. If SFW has tags in every state, are out of staters going to travel to do what they can do at home? Seems like the great genius might be cutting his own throat a little(to bad not a lot)

Just an update on the reply from SFW:

Yup still waiting

What's keeping you from moving back to your home state? I also want you to move back. From reading thread after thread after thread by Utah "Locals", I haven't heard ONE good thing about Utahs deer herd either.

Breaking news on contact from SFW. Obviously in light of the article containing quote from THE DON and Byron Bateman, SFW is rushing out to put out this fire caused by a reporter with an agenda, and a bunch of misquotes. So upon challenging them to post the truth and I received the following explanation:

When they came for the road hunters I was not one so I said nothing. When they came for the oppurtunists I was not one so I said nothing. When they came for the public land hunters I was not one so I said nothing. When they came for me there was no one left to say anything!

Shotgun1 - While Utah's deer herd is in sad shape, Idaho has a non existant deer herd. Our's has been declining over several decades. Yours took a rapid dump over the last 10 years. I was born a spud and still have a ton of family in the Gooding and Burley areas. I have hunted both states for many years. Quit hunting Idaho 5 or 6 years ago because it just wasn't worth the price of the tag. After coming down here and hunting with me a couple of times, they can't understand why we complain so much. They saw more deer in a week than they did in the last 2 years. These are also people that each have mule deer entries in B&C. They know deer. Just sayin.

It's always an adventure!!!

Slammy and Bull I've hunt Ut 20 years and Id for ten and I'd take a ID OTC tag over Ut any day of the week.

Bull, even though I have no reason to not believe you, you said their deer herd is non existant, and ours was way better. So we are just better than non existant? Talk about striving for mediocracy!
