If any one hasent had the opertunity to shoot spot tournaments or 3d tournaments you are missing out. It will help you shoot better in hunting situations as well as bring home a check.
Tim Gillingham just one the Lancaster shoot last night and brought home a check of $9340 1st prise 5840 + 3000 mathews contingecy = 500 gold tip.

If any one is interested in one of the best shoots around come to the Vegas world archery festival on Feb 10-12. I went to this shoot last year as a spectator as well as shot in the 3D event. This was a top notch shoot.

The 3d range in Vegas didn't have any shots over 50 yards and it is a marked range.
Indoor spots are shot at 20 yards.

We just had a shoot in Toole Utah on Jan 20-21. It had shots up to 60 yards all were marked yardages and had red stickers marking the highest scoring ring. About 350 archers shot this course over the two days.

Spanish Fork is a marked range and The Vernal shoot is an unmarked range both have shots up to 65 yards. Both shoots are on the same day. I believe the dates are March 10-11 but don't quote me on that. We always shoot Spanish fork early and drive to Vernal to shoot it in the afternoon. The Vernal shoot is one of my favorite shoots. They sometimes have you shoot from a tree stand, or a ground blind.

Sportsman?s Archery, Jakes Archery, Payson Sports, and Humphries Archery, and can tell you where all of the local shoots are being held in and around Utah.

These shoots are gaining in popularity and are great family fun.

Any one of these shoots can be shot for fun or for money so I hope to see you there.

I personally shoot my recurve out to 98.245 yards on a regular basis :)

I also shoot out to 80 yards in the woods every Tues. night all summer long with my recurve :)

What's the matter zigga, you gots a problem with them there distances? LOL!

Cheers,
PEte

Theres a few guys from here that are headed to Vegas , they shot this past weekend at the Whittington Center up at Raton , they placed 3rd , 5th and 6th . I love 3-d shoots too , they're a blast....NMHUNTNUTT

Hey NMUNTNUTT
What state is the Whittington Center in?
Who is shooting that you know?
I'll look for their names down there.
Are you shooting in the spots or just 3D?
I am registered for both this year. I can't wait to get down their. These shoots give me just as much buck fever as a big buck.

The Whittington Center is up at Raton NM and is a great place , it belongs to the NRA , but they give back to the sportsman & women , the Whittington Center puts on bow shoots , all types of gun shoots from small caliber to 50 cal long distance world shoot , and they offer top notch hunts in the fall .
I just shoot 3-d , but the other guys shoot both . Jose Aragon , Frank Herrera and David Wolf , Mathews ,Bow Tech and Hoyt shooters , but they all shoot together , and they all shoot the lights , both on the range and out in the hills , and they are all great guys real friendly and helpful ..They are going to Vegas , but I won't , fastpitch softball for my daughters have me taken up all summer , maybe a couple fly fishing and a 3-d shoot or two , but other wise I live to watch my girls play . Heck if it weren't for this sight and a couple magazines , I'd really be in trouble ....lol....NM
