My father drew unit 18s - the sub-unit of unit 18. Anyone have experience with unit 18 in general?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Moose all over that country some foot work you'll find em Congrates on the tag!

I called the DOW on that unit during the app process and they said they separated that unit out because many people wouldn't go in that far if they could hunt close to the road. So I took that as there are plenty of moose if you are willing to hike. Sorry I dont' know anything first hand. I called the DOW office (I think it was in Kremling or Hot Sulpher Springs) and they were helpful so if you haven't yet, I'd suggest trying them directly.

I live in #18 just south of the "s" part and can vouch for the above post- it's an access separation. Noone will hunt the east fork when on the same tag they can roadhunt the other parts of
18.

When you get to where you can hunt you must haul your moose uphill several miles or more UPHILL to access your truck. In some t/h situations up and down are needed. You will note there was no login of a kill from there last yr in the stats. I hunt there a lot and there are a few moose around but you can never count on seeing one in any given week where I've been. Lot's of turds around from wintering moose though maybe the road moose go there for winter range?? There has to my knowledge never been a moose taken out of there so the potential for a huge one would appear to be good- the problem is all the ones I see are down right puny, and the ones out by the roads are sometimes freakin' huge, go figure. Good luck and if you need to rent llamas for your packing pm me, you need them you just don't know it yet!!.

We need some help fellas.... we still have not even seen a bull in the subunit.

Any suggestions on places to look would be appreciated. Where have guys seen moose in the past??!!
