The Colorado Stae Wildlife Commision is meeting on Nov 8 and looking to make a Shed Hunting season in the Gunnison Basin. The following link will take you to the agenda.

Looks like all the press and a few bad apples have ruined it for the rest of us. Hopefully the idea of a shed hunting season does not spread to the rest of the state or other states.

This has got to be the dumbest thing I have seen in a long time! Do they think that they will accomplish anything with this nonsense? You guys in CO really need to make phone calls and write letters putting a stop to this before it gets out of hand. If it ever comes up in NM you can bet I'll be givin' 'em hell in the worst way.

Make some noise folks!!!
We stopped them from this kind of BS in Wyoming by simply showing a lot of public opposition. These laws are uninforceable and they know it. Yell loud enough and they will back down!!!
ON the other hand, If you sit back and watch the "Do Gooders" will lead you into the stupidity that Utah has to deal with!
The general publics lack of ethics is causing problems for the wildlife too.

It's the units around the town of Gunnison...54, 55, 60 something or another...whatever it is BS.

They came to the WC in September...that's when a bunch of us sent comments. They sent them away to re-think their position. The issue is the Gunnison SAGE grouse. Last year it was the mule deer...next time it will be the snow flea...

The original proposal only makes picking up the shed illegal. You can still go disturb the bejeebers out of the grouse but apparently when you pick up the shed, the grouse falls over dead.

I am mad as hell and plan to shoot as many grouse as I legally can before I die. How's that for a little disturbance?...a load of #5 lead shot...

They won't be able to inforce this with the coyote and rabbit hunters.

That's my thoughts exactly....if it is really a problem they should be willing to close off the land to ALL users. I wonder if it is not a way to drive the prices of antler up for a "special interest" group.
