$11,000 for killing a trophy elk in a limited unit.
I am not sure if there was jail time or anything else, but with the Sampson Law, poaching does not pay very well in CO, assuming the DA actually sticks to the law.
I am glad the officers were able to catch the guy, that other hunters turned the guy in and that the DA takes wildlife crimes serious and was willing to hit the guy with the max fine.
