The antlers were actually treated in the field by the hunters dad. He used Velvalock on them. They didn't turn out to bad for being mid September and ready to strip. I prefer to use formaldehyde, but I fell the Velvalock is a good alternative when in the backcountry or bush. The biggest problem I see with velvet is when it is manhandled in the field. Keep it cool and dry and don't touch it.
