Colorado "Double Beam" sheds have been found

i saw pictures of this buck throughout the year when he was in velvet he actually had a huge sack of blood hanging down beside his face. Amazing deer.

I don't care if they're big or small!
If they throw lead I like em all!
:p

LAST EDITED ON Apr-13-11 AT 06:01PM (MST)[p]Absolutely amazing. I made a few trips looking for him, but just never felt right circling Walmart, the police station, the trailer park, construction company, etc. Lots of deer around there. I'm glad the gentleman shared his story with Field and Stream so we could all see the sheds. Looking at the score sheet, (which they missed two inches transferring the number to column one), and giving it the 22 inch spread credit, this buck would have been 288 7/8 on the hoof. Damn, what a hog. It would be interesting to see if it could be scored B&C with the double main beam.

Can't say I agree with the one guy setting up antler traps. Glad he didn't find them.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-13-11 AT 10:11PM (MST)[p]UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE! Could you imagine walking up on that 150 inch side? That is a shed hunter's wet dream! Just think he broke off that nasty big ol' ball dropper too. Cool to know bucks like that are still roaming the hills (or the city streets).

Those sheds look like tree roots. Just incredible the amount of bone that buck carried on his head.

Eldorado

I imagine they are worth their weight in gold too...lrts see...1400.00 am ounce times 16 times 15 lbs equals.. yep purdy close!!!

That big ball was not a drop tine....it was a blood sack caused from an injury or something that dangled. The blood sack popped eventually.
