Well guys I have been thinking about and reading everything that has been published on Antelope in Colorado. There has been some nice bucks killed out on the Eastern Plains and of coarse a handful of other units. I am seriously thinking about drawing the 201 Muzzleloader hunt only 5 tags plus the Bulls should be screaming and I could hopefully do a little fishing down on the Green River. Several hunters have mentioned that it’s a fun hunt not , many people around. If anyone has any input I would like to hear it. Thank You

I’ve been in that there stretch of Colorado and would say if you’ve got the points to draw that tag I think you’d have a great time.

Colo antelope numbers are down considerably from 15+ years ago to today. Tag quotas have been cut and have remained low. There are very few b&c bucks that come from Colo and even fewer the past 15 years. I’ve been sitting on a pile of pts for years and don’t get excited about Colo antelope.

As mentioned you’ll have a great time but your work is cut out for you if score is important

May I ask how many points you have?
I am sitting on 22 and been waiting for a few good years. Feeling like things are not going to get better and might as well hunt in the next few years.

I had the 201 muzzy antelope tag last year and had a blast. We looked over a ton of antelope but never saw anything huge. For me it was never about the score or inches but spending some time with the kids in some spectacular country. I would use my points again in a hurry if I had the chance.

You don’t think yours is a great goat? I’d be real happy with that one in Colorado.

There’s nothing wrong with that antelope, he’s a dandy in my book. Congratulations.

Sirzonkalot that is exactly the type of Antelope I am looking for. Beautiful Buck, we all know the quality has gone down but I am going to have a great time, camp, fish, bugle up a Bull or two and if all the stars align kill a great Antelope Buck. You asked how many points I have, well 28 same as Elk. I know a lot of guys will say I would never wait that long, I have been dam busy hunting everywhere else, taking kids and wife hunting. I’m glad I have this chance for a quality hunt. I burned 25 points for Mule Deer last year, hunted the Gunnison Basin and did not kill a buck but man did I see a lot of Deer. Colorado is truly a beautiful state and I feel blessed To hunt it again

I had that tag three years ago. Had a great time! Saw one other hunter and lots of antelope. Go for it! It took 17 points as a resident then.

I laugh when guys say no unit is worth that many points and I’ll be hunting through my 60s burning up those points that I have been banking and I’m hunting every year.

Elk deer sure in Colorado
Antelope maybe I’m missing something
A 12”-13”goat with a bow on a otc tag is just as good if not better than the one I got

Did you miss the first thread about having a fun muzzleloader hunt , fishing , bugling Bulls . Why don’t you tell us about your hunt and unit then
