Colorado antelope

Colorado is really not known as a trophy antelope state. There are a few good bucks but not many make B&C. NW Colo used to be the "meca" for CO antelope (as far as numbers). However, there are a fraction of the antelope there were 10-15 years ago due to severe winters and drought. The number of antelope that are within a 10 mile radius of Craig is amazing! Antelope in 3 and surrounding units seemed to have migrated and stayed in 301. There is lots of water and private land in 301 close to Craig and that's probably why they haven't moved. If you can get permission on private land in 301 you will be set! Antelope densities aren't nearly as high in 3 but if you cover lots and lots of country you may find a decent buck.

As you drive from Craig westward in 3 you will likely see fewer and fewer antelope the farther you go..especially where the majority of BLM starts. You can literally drive across unit 2 without seeing 1 antelope! I do this drive for work and hardly see any antelope.

Other areas you may want to research is the San Lius Valley, North Park, Trinidad and Limon areas, and Pawnee Grasslands. I believe Eastman just shot an 84" buck somewhere down by Trinidad which is about as good a buck as it gets in Colo.
