Co unit 54 hunt

I drew 54 muz. Was wondering what your archery hunt was like? Should be close to the same, plan on going the 8th of Sept. Number of deer, amount of other hunters? Plan on packing in with the horses and hunting around timber line.

Archery season starts the 25th of August and goes a week past muzzleloading season. Hunting pressure is relatively low the first two weeks of bow season. The highest numbers of hunters are during that muzzleloading season and the week folllowing as people try to hit the peak elk rut. The majority of hunters tend to stay out of the wilderness area and near roads esp. during muzzleloading although there are still a decent number of hunters that walk and ride horses in. There are pretty good deer numbers but the real big ones are tough to find. I hope this helps some. Good Luck.
