Does anyone have any information on this area. I am thinking about driving up there to explore. Not quite sure of where to go or what to expect.

Alot of private land now adays. I would hit the Teanaway if it's open.

You could always try reecer creek, saw a ton of elk in there on friday. I snuck in a herd of 200 plus pinned down for two hours waiting for a cow that bedded 10 yards from me to move. It seemed like she was looking right thru me. I finally got busted and the whole herd got up and were all looking right at me. I finally stood up and drew back on a spike that was downhill from me and I put my fifty yard pin on and released but only too miss right under him!! The whole herd bolted but I was able to get that all on video. Counted 12 spikes in that herd. pretty intense!!

MrClyde, What is the hunting pressure like in that area? With all this snow are the elk pushed down and bunched up making them easy to find. I have a east side bow tag and considering going over but haven't been in that area before. Tks nwhunter

Mr Clyde, This is my second year bow hunting elk and have spent most of my time in the Rimrock/Bumping lake area with little luck. I would love any info. you might have on the Reecer creek area or other areas open during the late season elk hunt.

Sounds like you had quite a rush last friday getting so close to 200 elk, good luck if you get back out and thanks for any help.

A wetsider, but am over there just about every weekend! Some friends of mine own property at sun east, and myself looking for some good land to buy up there.

MrClyde, I got your PM. Thanks a lot. I have been going over maps and really appreciate your insight to that area. I will be up that way next tues - thurs. If you happen to be over that way before then I would love to have a snow/accessibility report of that area. Thanks again.

Oh sure Clyde....I go Deer huntin' for a coupla' days and you tell everyone about our spot! :) Your just too dang nice for your own good. :) Just kidding of course....I should be over there Thursday myself....can't wait!

You guys must have a lot of Elk in your area to tell everyone about it. I have to wonder how much is true. I have not met many hunters who actually want more hunters in the area they hunt. Wow, a suprise every day.

Hey canhunter, If you were nice I probably would share some spots with ya. But it seems that all I've read of your posts is negative. Everything I share here is true and to be doubted by someone is crap. Some people out there are in fact good ol boy's.

No reason to get mad just a different perspective. I am not asking about any information on your hunting locations. I have not told anyone they are wrong on this page. I just try to get a understanding as to why if I have a different opinion to what is shown. This is a web page, so many times what you percieve is not what as intended. That is why I ask questions not to be mean but to get a full understanding of that persons perspective. I see a lot of opinions and beliefs and luckily we are entitled to voice them. For exhample you might admit there are a lot of people who intentionally put out false information on hunting locations. If you are not one of them then great that is your choice. Like I said something new every day. I genuinely intended it to mean exactly that wow I am suprised by people so willing to talk. If you have had negative comments from others direct your upset at them as I was not being negative. Remember this is written form and I have not figured out how to include voice influctions with my letters typed. No offense intended and continue to share or not share as you see fit.

Sorry bout that! Me personally wouldn't steer someone wrongly. The pms that I sent to a couple of guys were general locations where I've seen some elk. I have no problem sharin info with fellow archers. I'm a very unselfish guy willing to help out. Some on here will help out and some give false info and some just won't. Someday I may ask for help and hope that someone can steer me in the right direction.

MrClyde, Amen brother, I sometimes think a few of these guys on this site have forgotten what its like to help someone out, most of us are okay with our divulging of info to others and are generally nice guys, some of these guys just seem like they don't have any friends! Finnman
