Coastal Georgia toddler dies after being mauled by 7 dogs

The Associated Press

Police in coastal Georgia say a toddler has died after being attacked by seven dogs.

Bryan County Sheriff Clyde Smith tells the Savannah Morning News (http://bit.ly/YJYOO8 ) the 18-month-old girl was mauled in the yard Wednesday evening by dogs her family owned. Authorities say the unidentified girl's grandmother was asleep when she heard a commotion and saw the girl being attacked as she looked out of her window.

Authorities say the dogs, pit bulls and pit bull mixes, have been euthanized by Bryan County Animal Control.

It was unclear Wednesday night if charges would be filed.

Worthless dogs, should have saved them and turned them loose on the owners till they were killed by their own dogs. pit bull owners would then become magically responsible after a couple times of doing this...

I don't care much for pit bulls either. I've been bitten 6 times in my life...twice by a pair of cocker spaniels, once by a rescue chow when I tried to get friendly too soon, and three times by my grand.others leg humping shitheel of a chihuahua. Ihated him and I suppose he hated me. Been around my two nephews pits since 98 or so. Never so much as a nip from either of them.

Right. I guess everyone gets bitten by a leg humping chihuahua.

Anyone who lets one of those mutts near a child should be charged with endangerment,anyone owning one who maims/kills someone should be charged with manslaughter,they are a worthless breed.

Thats the difference. Lots of breeds bite. Very few kill. Can't for the life of me figure out why someone would choose a PB when there are so many other dogs to pick from that don't kill people.

not everyone that goes to prison is guilty either, that doesn't mean we turn them all loose cause .001% of them are innocent.

Pitbulls were bred and still are as fighting dogs. Nothing else. Worthless.

My neighbor has (or should I say had) a Chihuahua. She let it out this morning and I was so pissed I grabbed my .22 and shot it dead!

Now I go back and read it wasn't Chihuahuas????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!????

I had a chi whatever on a remodle job site that would run up and bit me. The owners said the dog really liked me. I was "Yea right." Then when I finished they called me and said the dog missed me so much that I should take it as my own. The entire job I wanted to kill the little f-er. To then get offered the thing still makes me roll my eyes.

IF IT MAKES ANYBODY FEEL BETTER...... WHILE HOG HUNTING ON THE 22TH I CAUGHT A SHEPARD MIX AND A PIT BULL RUNNING CATTLE IN A OPEN FLAT. THE PIT CAUGHT A .300WSM PILL......HE WAS DONE, THE OWNER CAUGHT UP WITH THE MIX K9 A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO.....DONE. DONT RUN CATTLE......ITS A NO NO.....................YD.

Well Eel - you don't have to take everything so literally! Wasn't that how the whole turtle hunting thing got started?? You overheard somebody say "Man, I have to go kill a turtlehead that is poking out!" and thought they headed out to the swamp when in reality, they only made it as far as the outhouse! But you didn't notice that so you took your gun and made it to the swamp in record time! That was your first turtle kill wasn't it?

Like the Geico commercial says, "Yeah maybe next time you should do a little research." Yep, I'll have the roast duck with the mango salsa, thank you very much.

The follow up story said the owner of the dog worked at Treasure Island Casino as a member of their reenactment crew. He offered the kid a dollar to keep quiet but the young man refused the buck an ear deal....... Terry

There are only 2 breeds of dogs that are worth a chit. One points pheasants and the other retreives ducks.
