Does anyone have any good ideas for how to paint a new gun safe? I got a great deal on a new stack-on gun case but it is green and I would LOVE to make it black.

Painting it is easy, getting a paint to stick, last and look good is another thing! I have painted a lot of things in my life but this is a different story.

I want it to look good for a long time, and I would think the glossy surface would not make a good base, If painted again I would bet the slighest thing scratching it would revel the green.

surface prep is the key,You would have to sand the glossy coat, prime, sand, a couple coats of color, and a clear coat, sanding between each coat is the key to longevity. id use an automotive paint. good luck.

i took one to a auto-body shop. was cheap and the clear coat made it real shiny.

Have it powder coated, they can sandblast then paint it and clear coat it.
