I took this photo in Idaho last year on a friends bear hunt. I would like to know the birds real name but have never been able to be sure I know its name, so if any of you birders can definitely identify it, I sure appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance and have a good one. BB

"Tree Sparrow".......wing bars are too white for chipping sparrow, I think.

I guess you will have to pick.

This is a Chipping Sparrow (top) and a tree Sparrow (bottom), so it looks to me like elkster got it right!

In my younger years I would have called it a sweet .22 target. lol. I guess that's just the stupid part of growing up.

I like these 'guess this bird' threads.
Here's one I photographed at the park the other day, not sure what it is. Any ideas?

I gave someone the bird while driving but it wasn't a yellow rumped anything. it was a special kind of bird.

It was a big bodied 2 point.
