LAST EDITED ON May-10-10 AT 08:44PM (MST)[p]so i converted my 5th wheel from 1 12 volt to 2 6 volts interstate batteries. [ great upgrade IMO]

i just was givin a 1 week old huge 12v deep cycle interstate battery.

SO....

to convert 2 6 volts, i hook up the posative from 1 battery to the trailor, the negative from the other battery to the trailor, then link the left over posative and negative. this basically makes a 12 volt battery.

o.k. that easy.
NOW-- can i hook up that new 12 volt, and run them in series?

so since i've basically made a 12 volt out of 2 6 volts, can i now run them like 2 12 volts?

i sure hope that makes any sence at all....

Inline adds the voltage parallel stays the same.

Yes you can. Your 2 6 volt batteries are wired in series to make a 12 volt battery. to add a 12 volt battery you need to wire it in paralell. Remember, series increases voltage and paralell increases amperage. To add the 12 volt battery to your string wire Pos to Pos and Neg to Neg to your existing 2 x 6 volt batts. Make sense ??

you basically quoted my question.
are you sure?

thats what i wanted to know, since i've made a 12 volt out of my 2 6's, can i now use 1 12v, with the combo of 2 6's to make 2 12's? and would it be an upgrade?
