Looking to meet up with a buddy and his family near palisades to camp. I usually go up cliff creek by Bondurant or over at the mouth of Indian Creek off palisades, but just want to see some different country.

I'm talking travel trailers, generators, atvs and non NF campground type camping. Is the big elk, bear creek area full of people? Are there areas just to pull off and camp and let the kids jam around on kiddie atvs and shoot pop cans with BB guns? Any ideas would be great.

Thanks.

Also(unrelated to camping) has anyone ever stuck their nose up Blowout Canyon. Google earth makes that place look wicked with all the boulders. Man.

Looks like Big Elk mountain is in the south west side of the lake and big elk creek is on the north east side of the lake? The south west side toward poker Mtn looks like there's more atving to do and the big elk-little elk creek on the north side look to be just trail head type stuff like Indian creek where you are basically boxed in and foot traffic only up the canyons??

West side of Palisades is going to be way more atv friendly, probably crowded this weekend but should clear out a little.

Fall creek rd (west of palisades and swan valley)has what u are looking for. Off the road camping. Creek to stomp in. Some Forrest service roads to piss around on. Not ideal but not bad either.
