Yep,I guess I will have to camp in the national forest campground and plan on getting there early to get a spot.
I will be using our 23 foot camp trailer.
And be careful of the wind! There's often a mean funnel in that area that has taken over many a rig. If the signs are flashing no light trailers, stay in Laramie!
Back several years ago,I took my sons antelope hunting in unit 106 and the wind there tore up our tent .Had to tie it to the truck to even keep it from blowing away.
Good ole Wyoming wind.
the first time I hunted in Wyoming back in 1992 we had a really good tent come down on top of us one night and we were real lucky the thing didn't catch fire with the kerosene heater we had in there. We ended up packing everything up and went into Buffalo and stayed in a motel the rest of the week. Ever since then I've stayed in a trailer and if it blows away I'm in deep dodo!!!
I like to camp right where I hunt.So I can walk out to hunt, but road condition and weather some times limmit where I can place my camp trailer.
Hope to get out to Wyoming a few days early to check out the area.Forest Service told me that currently Sand Lake road is under construction right now but should be open come September.
