Cactus 🌵 bucks w/ no-nuts and earmarks

When I was in high school they said bucks with no nuts would throw cactus antlers. We earmarked and neutered quite a few thru 90 to 1993 ish. Southern utah area. Does anyone have a deer they killed with these traits? I never could draw out to hunt that unit to find them...
