Bush's War? Really?

w is running out of things to screw up and you are trying to blame the war on the Clinton admin? I watched 5 seconds of your little video so if I'm way off I apologize. Since w took office we've got over 7,000 dead Americans and we're on our way to $4+ per gallon of fuel. I could go on all night.

IS THAT GOOD???

This adminstration could not have possibly done a worse job so what is your point?

I give bush a C.F. and a D.

Thanks Pro. I have posted that before about half a dozen times over the years. Dude, T, RUS, and Forewall always spin like no other when hit with this.
Bush has his faults for sure, but on the war, I can not fault the man. Given the info he was given, slam dunk ect ect....any real American would have reacted the same way.

zigga, your 'insight' is amazing. You don't take the time to see what was presented, but you form an opinion on it. Classic.

Then you wrote: "If only Gore would have won. God help us."

Right, because if Gore had been elected President global warming would have been reversed and all the inhabitants of mother earth would be well fed and living in Utopia, Sadaam would still be in power but he would be a close ally of America, as would Iran and North Korea, we would be energy 'independant' as we would have figured out how to make CLEAN renewable energy sources right here in, superman would still be alive because stem cell research would have found a way to 'fix' him, Michael J Fox would have starred in 2 more Back To the Future movies because he would have been cured as well, WalMart would be unionized and selling American made products only, China would be borrowing from us, gasoline engines would be something viewed like hand carts, there would be NO borders to the north or south, and we wouldn't have any conservatives as they would have converted to socialism. Did I miss anything?

You assume that since the dems were wrong our commander in chief can be wrong as well with no responsibility, they're all morons I'm sorry to tell you. if Bush listened and did everything the dems asked him too I could see your point but I haven't noticed that, Bush took us to war so right or wrong it's his war. What Clinton said 5 years before the bombs fell in Baghdad isn't of mush importance either talk is cheap, if he had started the war it would have been his baby but it's not.

Play the video of Cheney saying why we didn't go into Iraq under Bush sr and were correct for doing so, I agree. none of you like to talk about that for some reason.

It's like this dude. If you and your pals were at a live taping of Deal or No Deal, you stood on the sidelines shouting pick case number 15 from the start. As each round passes, you and your buddies continue to articulate why the contestant should keep going and pass on each deal that comes by. Now, it gets down to two cases, one is worth a million bucks and the other is worth one penny. Still, you insist that no deal be taken and shout that case number 15 is the big one. The contestant then opens case 15 to see that he has won virtually nothing. At that point, YOU AND YOUR PALS HAVE NO CREDIBILITY WHEN YOU SAY...I TOLD YOU NOT TO PICK CASE 15. You might convice yourself that you never said pick case 15, but the rest of us vividly remember you screaming otherwise. If you forgot which case your pals picked, watch the video again. Argue that you weren't in the game and just a bystander as I'm sure you will. You still picked case 15.

Dude;
You calling the president of the united states a moron, is like the kettle calling the pot black. You would be wise not to put that issue to a popular vote.

It's one thing to say Iraq is a threat but it's another to start a war you friggin dbags. (just trying to keep up with d-cup):)

Oh yeah, there are other countries that are threats so why aren't we attacking them too?

Like I said, w is running out of things to screw up. That's a fact. But continue to live in dream land.

FACT: COMPLETE FRIGGIN DISASTER!

It'll get worse before it gets better too, so buckle up. And continue to blame our leader from 7+ years ago. It's really amusing. Carry on.

RE: CFD!!!!

7 year?...What's stopping you from going back further? Tmoney throws blame as far as Reagan from time to time.

RE: CFD!!!!

1911 what makes you think the dems speak for me? I was against this mistake of a war from the word go for the very reasons Bush Sr gave for not attacking during his term. with weapons inspectors crawling all over Iraq there was no hurry to attack and anyone who thinks there was is a moron , that goes for democrats or republicans.

I like your spin that the commander in chief is just a guy on the side lines doing the will of the dems in congress , I haven't seen him do their will since then and that strikes me as odd though.

History will see this as Bush's war, and Bush's mistake, that's the way it works. the commander in cheif isn't just a title kids give on the playground, it's pretty important.

RE: CFD!!!!

Dude, did Congress vote to give Bush the OKAY to drop bombs on Iarq? And if so, how many dems voted in FAVOR of doing so? How many dems held press conferences saying we MUST act NOW to prevent another 9-11? To say this is Bush's war in BS and is selective history writing. Clinton, Reid, Pelosi, Kennedy, Murtha, on and on, approved "Bush's war". He didn't do it alone. But, saying that, I am GLAD he had the courage to do what NEEDED to be done. I believe that 100 years from now this war will be viewed differently than the punduits view it now.

As usual dude you point out the painful facts and these girls can't handle it. I guess nobody was aware that our military wasn't at "war" specs. You know, unprotected hummers, etc. And exit strategy? That responsibility also falls on the pres....err...Clinton too right? You'd think that would be the current presidents call but I guess not. I know, blame Clinton for it. Clinton's way of launching the occasional tomahawk at bad guys is sounding more and more like a better battle plan now isn't it? I don't hate w, I just don't think he could assistant manage a 711 successfully. And if you think he is a good leader then you should visit America sometime or lay off the crack pipe for a day or two.

So basically what prout is saying is that w went from the "decider" to the "finger-pointer". I had a boss like that and guess what, he got replaced....by a girl. (no disrespect intended to the ladies)

RE: CFD!!!!

ziggy, just a hunch, but you still haven't watched the link have you? Because if you had, you might, might, not sound so ignorant on what is being asserted here. Nobody is 'blamimg' Clinton. The point is, people on BOTH sides if the aisle thought going into Iraq was the right thing to do. I STILL believe it was/is the right thing to do.

Clinton's "launching the occasional tomahawk at bad guys" accomplished WHAT? NOTHINIG!!!! Typical liberal montra.

RE: CFD!!!!

Ok Pro I will agree with you GOP.com put together a good clip with a good and honest point and the democrats can't suddenly say we weren't for it. This is where we'll disagree. As Commander and Chief under the Constitution Bush should have done a much better job of listening to the Joint Chief of Staff and fought the war as they suggested. He went in with little plan for the war and absolutely no exit plan. The most honest guy on the whole issue that I know of is Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel. ( He is a Republican) He basically said lets think this thing through so if we do go, we get done what we want to get done.

My opinion Bush did a poor job listening to the generals advice, as well as a very poor job of preparing the American public for what was bound to happen in this type of warfare. I also believe he withheld important intel on Iraq which would have had an effect on the decision Congress made to support the war. We will agree on one thing he has lost the support of the American public which is a very bad thing for a sitting president without control of Congress.

RE: CFD!!!!

Husker, I agree with the bulk of the 'blame' should be put at the feet of the Commander in Chief, the point of this thread was that the dems hands are stained with this war as well, and the media has forgotten THEIR own support/silence on this war until AFTER the fact.

Hagel is a republican in name only, he holds few, if any conservative views. He has yet to make a firm/strong stand on anything except to play both sides of the aisle to get attention or a good committee seat.

The way the war has been managed is a seperate issue from the support from BOTH sides to go to war. I also do NOT buy the theory if the members of Congress would have been given more info they would have voted differently. Good hell, most didn't bother to read what they were given, what makes you think they would have read the intel if there had been MORE pages?

The support has wavered, partly because the Bush Admin has made some mistakes, and partly because of the medias version of what is happening over ther being skewed to fit the dem agenda.

RE: CFD!!!!

Hagel is just an honest man forget labeling it does nothing positive. I doubt you know very little about his views whether conservative or liberal. Just like I would know very little about a Senator from Utah. He is retiring he made a firm stand that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake. I believe time has proven him correct. Bush as I'm sure you know is famous for not reading intel. Almost all past predidents whether democrat or republican found time to do their intel reading at some time in their day. Bush will not work that hard. Many of the democrats were just as guilty as the Commander and Chief of underestimating what we were getting into. The major difference is the course of the war wasn't on their plate.

As far as the point of the initial thread I agree many of the democrats were just as guilty. I know how to and do read congressional voting reports.

RE: CFD!!!!

>I doubt you know
>very little about his views
>whether conservative or liberal.

Does this mean you think I know a lot about his views? }>

I know enough on his views, one of the "Gang of 14", one who has been as likey to side with the dems and with his fellow reps on MANY issues, not just Iraq. He makes McCain look like a "neo-con" based on his 'views'.

Great War strategy. Lob a missile every now and then at someone that wants to kill you at any means necessary. I hope to hell we never have anyone like you leading our military. You don't have to be pinned in a corner with a bloddy face to be able to defend yourself. Wake up!!!!

RE: CFD!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-11-08 AT 11:56AM (MST)[p]I blame GWB for the failings he has displayed: being bull headed, not forcing Rumsfeld to resign, not seeing how long or how expensive this war would be, not listening to the military who wanted the invasion and follow on forces to be much much larger, losing or not getting allied support from our key allies etc.

As for the pre-war intel shared with congress to me that is a red herring. Both the house and senate intel. committees get the same product that the President gets. They have other resources they can tap as well. Anyone who sat on that committee and says they didn't have accurate intel. to us in the decision making process to go to war is either a liar or unfit to sit on such a committee.

So I guess breaking this country like obl wants to is a better idea? Now there's a good strategy. Have you seen our deficit and how much it costs to run a never ending war per week? I sure hope your wife balances your checkbook. Going dead broke in Iraq isn't protecting anyone over here. Ever heard of the fall of Rome? Ever heard of Rome?

RE: CFD!!!!

Never posted prior to now but felt the call to get involved. I and everyone else out there posting does not know the ultimate outcome of this military action. I am of the opinion that it is in the best interest of the US to aid in establishing a demacracy in the heart of radical Islam that will free (IE ENLIGHTEN)a multitude of people who have been taught from day 1 one to HATE us. The liberal Dem's who believe that sticking their heads in the sand and singing Kumbyaa will make this all go away (if they win) will be the death of this nation.
