I've never found a clean, shed-out elk skull. It seems like they start growing new antlers almost as soon as the old ones hit the ground. I've found a bunch of shed deer skulls but they seem to wait longer before they start growing, plus, the weather is usually worse, so more chance for a winter killed shed-out buck than a bull. Good luck though!

Ive got a spike elk skull finished clean. Just would have to take the spikes off it.

i have a perfect one i even whitened. a while back i drilled holes in the middle to mount a set on but never got around to it. how much you willing to pay?

LAST EDITED ON Jan-10-12 AT 09:42PM (MST)[p]I would rather not anyone go in that area. They may return later. If you want to wait until October, I will give it to you then. It is a decent 6-point. I got one of the sheds off of it last season, it was laying only 60 yards from the carcass. I could not find the other one, but I only looked for a few minutes. Looked like it died during last winter. There was still skin on parts of the body.
