BUGS!!

I'll be hunting the Wasatch for elk (LE Tag)starting mid August. This is the earliest I've ever hunted and was wondering what the bug situation is like. I'm pretty sure it will be HOT but what can I expect. Mosquitos, flys, etc.. I'll be doing lots of sitting at waterholes in the 7,000 - 10,000 ft range. Also, any remedies if it gets "buggy". How well do those Thermacell discs work.

Forgot to mention, wife and kid are coming with me. So if they are happy, less stress on me.

Thanks.

The flies are always horrible in the summer months up there, they seem to be gone around the first of august.
I think this is a huge reason summer trailcams are so popular these days.
I have never been big on early season scouting for elk unless i'm learning a new area. The bulls always show up when they are supposed to ;-)
