buffalo hunt coming up

I have several questions i was hoping could be answered by buffalo hunters here. My wife has a wyoming tag. She wants a head mount and and some of the hide tanned for a smaller rug. Can we do both? And if so how do I cut the cape off and where? Where can i get a rug tanned?Dpes anyone have some expereicne with good buffalo taxidermists in the region? Any help would be great..

Greg Heil of ReCreation Taxidermy has done probably 20+ buffalo off the Henrys in the last few years and does amazing work. His number is 208-461-9706.

I would recommend that if you want a rug and a cape, you skin the whole animal and let your taxidermist cut the cape where he needs to. Then the rest of the hide can be used for a rug.

I had a bull done both ways. You might consider a neck mount vs a Shoulder mount. Nothing finer then a rug.
