today i dicovered a slpit in the limb on my old ben pearson renagde 2.
i could have cryed she is like a long time girl friand i loved walking threw the woods holding her in my hand.
i think i bought her in 86 or 87 my son was 1 and in december he will be 21.
i felt like holding a funeral.
then 1.5 hour later i walked out of the sporting goods store with a new bowtech allegiance. i haven't shot her yet but am looking forward to it.
feel kinda guilty i should have stayed in mourning longer say 2 hrs.

Man I bet that was a shocker the first shot our of that allegiance. Sorry to hear about your old friend. I bet the allegiance will make the mourning short lived though.

Two-Timer LOL good luck with your new lady. Hope she shoots as good as the last one.

well i don't know what to think about this bow, after shooting wheels for so long i find this one real uncomfortable to shoot.
first i draw 31" and always shot fingers, the bowtech only go's to 30" so i thought i'd go to a release but i found i cant draw with one i get it right to the point but can't break it over.
next i try fingers and bending my elbow, out of 70 shots i have launched 4 during the draw.
i think i need to trade for a bow i'm comfortable shooting and it really ticked moseley off.
moseley wants this bow but i don't think its the right one for me.
i'm going to talk to the dealer and see if i can't trade it back for one that draws 31" and is longer for shooting with fingers.
i spent a ton of money on it allready getting it set up center shot and tuned and different mods.
what kind of bow draws smooth and is good with fingers?
the bow tech is a 60 to 80 lb.and at 60 lb i still don't like it. its just rolling over the cams that feels so weird to me.
i'm afraid some day someone will get hurt when i lose it during the draw.
i drew the mathew ovation today and it seemed more comfortable to draw.
moseley told me that he knows people who's mathews split there limbs, whats everyones best bet for a smooth finger shooting bow? one thats good for us old men.

It took me twenty years to change to a release from fingers. Gie it some time. You can actually pull a lot more weight with the release. Use your shoulder instead of your arm. Get a strap on release, and keep your finger behind the triger while you draw. If you'll give it a little time, you'll be amazed at the results. Keep in mind that your string is going to stretch for a while, so it will take several weeks of shooting to tune it in perfectly. Good luck.

I know the feeling , my buddy backed his truck over one of my sweethearts. I too am 2 timing with a bow tech...

i found another renagade 2 for 50 bucks, i'm starting to get use to the bow tech but i think i'll hunt with the renagade this year and give myself some time to get used to drawing that cam befor i muff up a shot on a big bull or buck.
i'm comfortable shooting the ben pearson.when it gets here i'll get her set up and i'm sure she will be just like old betsy.

I also took 20 years to switch to a release. One thing is for sure, you'll need to shorten the draw length by at least 1" to go to the release vs. fingers.

Finally this year I've found a release that I can shoot comfortably for hunting. Having the right release makes all the difference in the world. Play around with a few different styles and see if you can't find one that suits you better.

A bunch of the target guys in Australia are setting all kinds of records down under with the Allegence. It's a super accurate bow if you can get comfortable with it.

Cheers,
Pete

well i gave up on the bowtech and traded it for a new mathews ovation today.
i launched my last arrow during the draw last night and ticked me off.
shot the mathews today and the first three arrows i shot all touched each other.its comfortable to draw even with fingers and i even was able to draw it with a release.
out of all the bow i have tryed this is the first one i can comfortly draw with a release.
i took only three weeks for me to lose 11 arrows during the draw at that rate someone was going to get hurt someday.
plus i have a ben pearson coming in the mail.
