I am shooting a Mathews LX with PSE 300 carbon arrows and am in search of a 100gr. broadhead that will shoot like my practice points. I don't have the knowledge or time to tone broadheads. I'm considering the Ultimate Steel 9hear the blades fall out easily) or the Nitrons. Any advise?

jaybob,

I shoot Rocky Mountain Rocky's Advantage 100 gr.
they shoot very well for me and not real expensive
$35.00 for 6 at Cabelas.
You can also get them at sportsmans warehouse

Magnus stingers, They fly like field points won't break the Bank and have a lifetime replacement warranty.

Second vote for Magnus Stingers. Bass pro shops has the new buzzcut for $19.99. I shoot an AR with PSE radical weaves and the stingers group with my field points to 50 yds. Haven't tried past 50 yds.

All the broadheads mentioned are quality heads and fly side-by-side with people's field points. I'm currently trying some Wac'ems this year and they fly VERY well, even out to far distances.

I've tested the Magnus Stingers and the Slick Tricks with similar results. Pick the one you like and have a ball! Good luck.

I vote for the Rocket Steelhead, but as mentioned in the above posts, the other ones are good as well.

You testing them heads on elk again this year or deer? Looking forward to some photos. :)

So far that's the plan. I hope to test them (penetration) on a MonsterMuley before hand though. :)

A friend of mine killed a bull last year with them and had very good penetration with them. Hopefully I'll have a good report with them as well.

STAY AWAY FROM MECHANICALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shoot the 100 grain slick trick you probably wont even have to move your sight much.

I shoot the 100 gr Wac-ems also, They fly great out to 70 yds(as far as I have shot them) and I had great penetration on last years bull.(pass through at 39 yds)

100 grain Rocky Mountain Snypers are the only mechanical I would use. The fly just like your field points and leave an awesome entry and exit hole. They are as solid a broadhead as you will find fixed or mechanical. Randy Ulmer uses them!!!

Uncle Ted swears by Magnus Stingers- Where have we seen this before?!?! Im thinking of switching myself.

I only got 1 lung of a big bull with Rocky Mountain Snypers. It took until the next day to find him. I hit ribs but you got to expect that. I swithed to Montec G5. I get 50% more penetration on my target than my Thunderheads. Ken
