BowTech

The archery shop at Sportsman's Warehouse told me the other day the next year's line up of BowTechs bows will be unbelievable and he told me to wait on buying a new one right now? Anybody else heard or know of any future plans for bows?

Not sure how he would know that already. Any new advancements from any of the big bow companies won't come as a suprise. I don't think they will do anything that will make you kick yourself for buying one of the 2006 bows.

You may want to look at Elite's line up before buying a Bowtech--Bowtech's former leed designer has split off and started his own line. Same binary cams but with better limbs(laminated and manufactured by Barnsdale archery), they also come with winner's choice strings & cables. I'm in the process of ordering one right now. Check them out at www.elitearchery.com

He said he had went to a dealer's convention in Idaho this past weekend. Do you shoot a Bowtech?

Whats the differences between the Elite bows and bowtechs bows? What bow did you order?

The biggest difference between Bowtech and Elite seems to be price. The Elite is quite a bit less money.

Providing they get through the lawsuit. Elite should be a good bow. I wouldn't buy one until all this crud gets ironed out.

Pretty much the same bow as a bowtech, but they have better limbs and a little faster.

I ordered the Elite Energy yesterday. In my opinion, Bowtech has the best line of bows out there right now, but with one major flaw--WEAK LIMBS! Elite has taken the same Bowtech technology and improved the limbs (oh, they all come standard with Winner's choice strings & cables too!)--time will tell what the outcome will be, but their future looks extremly bright. When I called and ordered mine yesterday I spoke to a few different people (sales, support, etc) with the last name "Martin". Since the company is based out of Wala Wala it sounds a little coincidental????

I'm an admitted Bowtech junkie and own too many. Nonetheless, I too have been looking at the Elite bows. Unfortunately, there are no dealers in Utah and I'm unwilling to buy one without having shot it first. I emailed Elite to see if I could pay for one and have a few days to return it if it wasn't what I hoped for. They haven't responded to the email. My understanding is they are backlogged in their orders. As a result, they probably aren't real motivated to respond to a single prospective customer. Still it would be nice to at least get a reply. As for new Bowtech innovations, I'd love to know what's coming. However, if you are in the market now, the 06 models are fantastic.

Ya, I saw where there was no dealers in Utah. I wish there was, whats the crud over the lawsuits and such? I would like to shoot them to compare the differences. I'm in the market now, but its not a neccesasity. But when is it.. hahaha, we'll see what happens. i need to draw a tag first.

I think Elite will eventually give Bowtech a run for their money. BUT, as of now my local dealer, who is also a buddy, can't even get a hold of anyone at Elite. He was told he would have bows over two months ago and still nothing. Anyway, I ordered another Bowtech, my 7th, and have only had one set of limbs let go on me.

I talked with elite Friday the 2nd of june they said ther bows retail from $529 to $649 and there is a back log of three weeks. Sounds like they have the bienary cam system and winner coice strings with stronger limbs ... sounds like a nice bow!

That's what they told me--3 weeks til delivery. This is the first bow I've ever bought sight unseen, so I've got my fingers crossed that it lives up to my expectations.... If not, I've still got my trusty Old Glory and Protec.....

I ordered the Energy, I prefer to shoot a slightly longer, more forgiving bow because I shoot a lot of 3D--I like to use the same bow for hunting and 3D so naturally the Energy seemed to be the better fit for me. Should be a little more forgiving than the E-500 and the E-Force without sacraficing much speed. If I were to pick one for primarily a hunting bow I would have chose one of the others. It'll be spittin' out my 410 grain huntin arrow out at over 300 fps--should be enough juice to knock over just about anything!!

I hope that Elite does well. The more competition out there in the archery market the better.(For us) I will be looking hard at elite once they get the ball rolling a little more steady.

Hope you enjoy your new bow quickdraw.

Kris

Thanks guys! I'll update this thread once it's here and I've had a chance to shoot it. Probably won't have it for another couple of weeks.....
