Bowtech noise?

I just bought a new 2006 bowtech allegiance. A friend at work told me that the first thing that needs to be done with this bow is to take out a pocket knife and cut off all the bowtech silencers. I am just curious if any of you have had to replace yours with better after market stuff or is the bowtech stuff ok? Thanks Ken

I own a 2005 Bowtech MightyMite, and a 2006 Bowtech Tribute. I have left the stock limb vibrablocks on both bows. Both are very quiet compared to other bows that my buddies shoot. You'd probably experience a slight increase in speed if you removed the vibrablocks. You could remove them and install limbsavers, but I wouldn't waste your money. Furthermore, I'd remove the limbs and slide the vibrablocks off of the limbs before I would remove them with a pocket knife. Knives and Bows don't mix. One slip of the knife and you could be in trouble if you hit your string for some reason. Good luck to you!

I shoot with the original hush kit on my bowtech.
On the string I did go to string leaches and I also use limbsavers also.Just cause I like a real quiet bow.
I went from mattews quiet to stealth mode.
The biggest thing that I noticed that made noise was my rest.
I replaced it this year with a drop-away and no more noise.
quietest bow I've shot that has a fps of 315!

I've found the factory string silencers will shoot apart after a few thousand shots, but the cable silencers and limb silences are fine. I've installed a string suppressor called an STS on my bowtechs and have not replaced the shot up silencers. I really like what it has done. I do think I picked up a couple fps--which means nothing. You want that hunting bow as quiet as you can get it.
