A few months ago while I was at a friends house I saw an ad on TV for a bowsite that claimed you didn't need a peep and I think the way you knew you were on is where the middle part settled in a circle. Any ideas what the heck i'm talking about?

i know what you're talking about and i'm not going to mention the name. i'll just tell you, it suck(ed)(s)!!

It is known as a NO PEEP. I will tell you first hand it is a waste of money, IMO. I used it for a year and was starting to like it for just shooting in the back yard when there is nothing to bother you. It is supposed to be designed to get you in the habit of anchoring in the same spot and using the pin as the sight. However a peep in the center of the string IMO is a far better way of making sure your anchor point is the same every time. I was a believer until the archery hunt two years ago when a miss a buck because I didn't LINE UP THE DOT IN THE CENTER OF THE GREEN. If I were you I would stick with the traditional peep sight, you'll be far better off. My .02

pushin30 - That is the EXACT reason for having the dot in the center, so you don't miss?! That is the whole concept of the no-peep and a consistant anchor. It sounds like you are blaming the no-peep for your miss, if you would have anchored correctly and put the dot in the middle, things may have been different.
The No-Peep is not for everyone, I have had one for 3 years now on my hunting and 3D bow and love it. But go with whatever you are comfortable with and like.

I love the no-peep too. If you use it enough you'll hardly even need to look at it because your anchor point will be so consistent.

I've got a buddy who is a very serious archer and he swears it's the best thing since wheels on a bow. It's not a piece of crap, it just might not work for everyone.
