Well My name is Michael I am 15 1/2 I got a bow last year for my birthday in May hoping I will be able to hunt archery the upcoming season but I didnt becuase the bow had really bad strings. So I had my moms friends husband take it to a guy that he works with at hoyt/ Easton facotary. But that was in june and I havnt seen it since so I think he lost it becuase he is telling me that the new bows are for sale at hoyt. So My question is if there is anyone that has a lefty bow laying around that they arent using they will sale for cheap. Know I dont want a high priced bow just something that I can take hunting and use for practicing.

Thanks Mike

look on ebay..

just do some research and know what the value of the bow you are looking at.
there are thousands of them on there, especially if you don't care what brand of bow it is.
Make sure and count the extras that come attached to it. sometimes there is more value in accessories than the bow its self is worth.
good luck.

I think I would ask the guy what the heck happend to your bow!!!
that is a bunch of hog wash...

I bet he gets a heck of a price cut on the new hoys, if he really works for them. Suggest that he gets you one for cost and then pays half for messsing yours up...

I think you learned a tough lessen Michiganboy. If I was a lefty I'd give you one of my bows! Hate for anyone to lose a season due to something like this. You had better steer clear of this guy. Ebay is probly your best bet for an inexpensive used bow but I would strongly suggest you start saving your money and find one at an archery shop so you can shoot it before buying. Bows will feel very different from one person to another and if you have limited experience with them you may get stuck with one that doesnt fit. There are some great new bows out there now in the $300-550 range that will last you for many years. The new Bear Truth comes to mind, Reflex, Pse also has some great bows for a reasonable price. Again, sorry to hear about your predicament but please try going to a proshop and tell them what happened and what your looking for. They may cut you a good deal and you'll get the right fitting bow. Good luck.

Ebay for sure. Top of the line bows only 2-3 years old for less then half of new set up and ready to go.

I'd quit looking for a free bow and go back to the guys that lost your bow and demand your bow back or another of of equal value!!!
There are a lot of scams on ebay. And unless you know your exact draw length, and what your looking for in a bow, your better off going to a pro shop that can set you up with the proper equipment.
There is another site that has a great classified section. PM if you like the link since MM has the gay rule you can't post another website address. Ok.....it's not a gay rule.........it's absolutley friggen stupid and makes no sense. Anyway........... :)

Mike, these guys have a point. Since you are a new commer to the archery world, judging by your age that is... You did not say if you have another person to help you with the specifics of setting a bow up and measuring and all that.
Ebay is hands down the best place to get a used bow for a good price if you have time to shop and know exactly what you are looking for in a bow. If not then you will likely end up with something less than you want (or need). You may actually end up spending more a bit at a time then you would if you went to a pro shop.
If you want a gaurneteed good fitting bow and all that head to a pro shop and look around.
If you want a project and an ebay adventure take a look there.

good luck.

Michiganboy, it's too bad you don't have a bow now, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Don't trust old cheap bows. Chances are if the strings were that bad, the bow won't be that great either. I bought a used bow a few years ago, but I don't dare shoot it past 20-30 yards because it can be unpredictable. Just because you have a bow, doesn't mean you should hunt with it. You don't want to go out and wound an animal.

Save up some money and get a better bow. Bows depreciate like crazy because of the new "technology" that comes out every year. Bows from 2-3 years ago might not be top of the line, but are very similar to the 2007 bows, just with fewer trinkets and a few fps slower.

Also, try www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum
It's a good site, and can help you since you are from Michigan.

Well I am getting mine back tommarow but he didnt get it re strung he said that the guy got fired or something like that.
