I was looking at getting a great new bow for the coming season. I was wondering what would be a geat deal to get. Any particular brands to consider? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
i am going to say the same thing i say everytime this Question gets asked. DONT make a decision till you have shot them all shoot the top bow for all the brands hoyt, pse, mathews, bowtech, diamond, ross, bear, shoot them all and see what fits you best. ALL the companies have put out awesome equipment this year. shoot them all and make a decision.
Do a search in this section on buying a new bow. You should get a lot of useful information and things to look for. The short answer is take JTLD's advice and spend a day at your local pro-shop and shoot them all. Good luck and have fun.
Another thing to consider is; buying Last Year's Model bow. This can give you a pretty substantial cut in price and since not too much has changed from last year; you should get about the same performance and have a pretty sweet bow at $100-$200 less! Can you say, "Accessories?"
Also, don't just limit yourself to Cabelas. They might have more brands than other places; but, many of the small mom and pop shops are awesome.
These smaller shops will take the time to educate you on a bow/brand, and not just sell.
I live in PHX, if you are going out to Cabelas, check out Corner Archery on 50th street and Northern.
I second the corner archery visit. They're good people and they've been in business longer than 15 years. They have a great selection. Check out the Hoyts, Bowtechs, Reflex, PSE, and Diamond bows and a few others and you'll be surprised at how much they've changed and how well they shoot.
