Bow for wife

I want to buy a new bow for my wife. She is kind of a wimp and can't pull back much weight. I would like to get her a good starter bow that can be increased in weight as she becomes a better shooter. I would like it to be a bow that she can eventually hunt with according to Utah regulations. I don't want to have to buy another bow six months down the road. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I got my wife a browning micro adrenaline last year, in a 55 lb bow, you can turn it down to about 38lbs for starters, after 3 months of shooting she had it maxed at 55lb's but she was also shooting it 4-5 times per week. it's a sweet little shooter if you would like i can get great package prices from my buddy who owns a pro-shop just let me know..

Drake that's a great package and I think they offer it in a little lighter draw weight package as well. The PSE spyder is a nice little bow for the ladies as well and Hoyt makes an adjustable model that I saw that was nice but I can't recall the name. There are quite a few models made for women and have some good adjustability and I would look at the manufacturers websites for kids bows as well. Good luck.

I'm in the EXACT same boat... what I did is look over entry level bows at Jakes Archery... let her pull and shoot a couple, then I went and found a used one on EBay with all the goodies already on it for cheap. We decided to go with a PSE Deerhunter, the one with a 26" draw and 50lb max draw weight. That means we can tune it down to about 37lbs to start off.

I won an auction on a perfect condition one a lady was selling (she was upgrading to a Hoyt I think)... for $88. That included sights, stabilizer, rest etc etc. Hard to beat that when trying to get someone into the sport. If she likes archery then down the road I'll upgrade her but if she hates it, well I'll just sell the bow later.

Hey have you checked out the Martin bows? I got my wife one for our engagement present. After about 2 weeks she was all 10 spots. It was very humbling. Now at 8 months pregnant she still keeps me on my toes. Good luck and you may check out archeryexperts dot com, they have some good deals on last years models. Well remember if you aim small, you'll miss small.

Have several lady friends here that shoot the PSE spyder and they really like it. The others mentioned probably will do just as good.
Way to get the wife interested.

I have a little PSE Spyder that has never been shot. I bought it for my wife and she had no desire whatsoever to try and find the time to use it. PM me if you are interested in the bow.

when I read the title I thought you were suggesting a trade for some reason.

I don't have a bow to sale, but I know if your wife finds out that your calling her a wimp, the only bow she'll want or have is the one in her back..
