Well after 8 years of trying to draw out for the Book Cliffs - I finally did this year. I HAD never been down to that area before and was slightly intimidated for my scouting adventure. Talked with a couple different people who told me where to go and to look. Let me tell you about my adventure then if you have any information it would be greatly appreciated.
Went to Chimney rock first day of our scouting. There is absolutely nothing anywhere near Chimney rock. I scouted up and down five different draws. It is dryer than a bone up there. We then went down and follow Seep Ridge Road all the way down through the Book Cliffs while driving up any off the path road I could find. During my travels, I saw only two elk in total. I saw no deer or any fresh deer droppings.
Next time we decided to go down to Thompson Springs and drive up in by Cunningham ranch. Once again, we saw nothing. No deer, no water, no animals besides bunnies. I'm really starting to panic at this point with the hunt being less than two weeks away.
