Went out for a drive with my dad to look at some animals the day after Christmas. We saw about 125 deer in 6 miles of dirt road and 3 bucks were only packing half a set. Also saw around 60 elk with 4 bulls, nothing big.

Also saw a mixed group of about 125 pheasant and quail together. Biggest buck was a heavy 22-24 inch 4 point with really nice forks. I'd guess about 170 inches.

A day spent with dad in the hills is a good one for sure.

I'm not trying to come off as a jerk, but its posts like this that help facilitate the demise of shed hunting. As most seasoned shed hunters know, most bucks have still got a lot of time before their headgear will be dropping. The world wide web now knows that somebody saw a shedded buck, and all this post does is help people jump the gun and get out there way too early.

I remember the good old days when everything we did related to shed antlers was a big secret. We wouldn't even let friends know what, when, or if we were picking up antlers. I can remember swearing my family to secrecy regarding the antlers we used to pick up. That was back in the good old days though.

I know the photos and posts make this forum, and I enjoy looking at all of them. But if anything I think it's the internet that's help create the monster that shed hunting is today. My rant has now ended.

I don't think you are coming off as a jerk. Just a person concerned with where his favorite sports is heading. I couldn't agree more.
