How did you do on your Utah archery mule deer hunt this year?
I met your best friend in his Green Cherokee with BOWHUNTR license plate. Nice guy, but I forgot his name ( liked the picture of the large Ariz buck he shot last year with you ). He said that he took a 5x6 if I remember right on this huntin Utah. Good area to hunt, but the deer seemed pretty aware from alot of the pressure. Buddy missed a nice 26" at 45 yards downhill. Sorry I missed meeting you on this hunt, would have been a pleasure. Good luck with the rest of the season. If you are ever in Utah passing through, please give me a call in the Salt Lake area.

You must be the person Brad was talking about. I never made it over to that part of the country, as I was trying an area down in the juniper/sage.

Utah was tough this year for me. I saw one decent buck (175") that I had at 40 yards. Was just about to release when he began to trot away. Hate when that happens. Don't get me wrong, I saw lots of smaller bucks, including some 4x4's in the 140-150" range, just nothing I wanted to shoot.

Arizona was a similar hunt to above. However, I passed a few bucks that were fairly decent sized P&Y mulies. I ended up taking pictures of them instead though, as I was after a little bigger buck. However, that mysterious MonsterMuley never presented itself for a good shot up there either. I'll post the pictures of the ones I let walk when I get them developed. I think I've been reading too many DeerKing posts and want to take close photos of live deer now and forget I'm hunting. I DID, however, manage to sneak up on a songdog and put an arrow through him. (see Pic enclosed)

A friend of mine, Bart, took a decent buck with his recurve bow at 12 yards! It gross scores in the 160's and nets about 158" P&Y. (see Pic)

So, after 20 days of hard hunting I finally ventured back home for a rest. I still have blacktail season here and then January rut hunt in Arizona. With the bucks I've been seeing around here, things are on the upswing.
