Blazer vanes

I'm having a hard time keeping my blazer vanes on gold tips
with a whisker biscuit. Any advice? I always put a drop of glue
at the front and back, I even tried using wraps?

My first thought is what type of glue/adhesive are you useing? I have shot Blazer's hundreds of times through my WB with no problems. Maybe change your glue and see if that works, Boehning fletch glue is some good stuff.

I'M USING GOAT TUFF GLUE AND I WOULD NEVER GET RID OF MY BISCUIT
THE VANES WILL CHANGE BEFORE THE REST DOES.
ANY TIPS ON HOW TO APPLY THE VANES?

How are you doing it now? I am using goat tuff and wraps and you cant get those things to come off. I'm not using the biskit though but I havent heard of this problem with wraps.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-03-06 AT 03:38PM (MST)[p]Iam using WB and blazer Vanes with a wrap and goat tuff... I have not had any problem keeping them on my Gold Tips.

MAYBE I JUST NEED TO TAKE MY TIME. I NOTICE A LOT OF THEM END UP WITH A SLIGHT SPACING BETWEEN PART OF THE VANE AND THE SHAFT.I
USE A MARTIN ARCHERY TOOL. AM I JUST BAD AT IT?

If you put a Blazer vein next to a "standard GT vein" youll notice that the blazers are a little taller. I S**t canned my blazers and went back to the standard Gold Tip veins. It seemed like a tight fit through my WB. Ive heard people that have good luck with the blazers and a WB, but for me it was a problem. For the person who always shoots at 20 yards, they might not notice a problem, but get out to 40, and youll see the difference.
Good luck. MS

No I dont see any difference I shoot 50 yards and 60 yards all the time and I dont see any differencr in my blazers... they work well for me. I shoot a whisker Biscut.

Me too. I shoot out to 60 yards WITH MY WB, no problems at all. It's more of a problem with the shooter (me) than the WB. :) I suspect most that knock the WB have never shot one.

If you notice that gap on "any" vane you will have problems. I shoot the Blazers and love them. You do need a consistant bead of glue on any vane and make sure they are contacting the shaft the full length of the vane or you will not get good adhesion. IMO since the WB is a full capture rest you are losing vanes easier with the contact when shot.

P.S. I use Goat Tuff also.

i have been using crazy glue with the finger nail brush and its holding up well. put a spot on front and back and a constent bead on the fletch.
