Yesterday I had my first successful shed hunt of 2010. Found 26 sheds, unfortunately only 3 were fresh. Right out of the truck I have to hop a creek. Due to recent rains, this turned into an Olympic event. I was on a boulder halfway across when I slipped and for the rest of the day I was soaked  . Oh well, 30 minutes later I spot this old fork from about 200 yards.
As you can see, I was very surprised to walk up to my fist set of the year. (a side by side four point, to boot)
20 minutes later...
If you look hard, you can see an old shed that was 20 yards away. I was excited because at this pace I would have over 20 brownies by the end of the day. Sadly, for the next 7 hours I didn't find anything fresh. I did find a few interesting ones though.
Then I found this SLUG! A year old 4 point with lots of mass and tine length, scores over 72"
Here is the total for the day.
This is why my back is still killing me.
As a side note, our dog just had puppies. They are for sale.
