Has anyone taken or heard of any good bucks (Muley or Whitetail) taken around Cook Lake or Sundance this year? I hunted around Cook Lake for years, but now I live out of state. Just wondering how the hunting is going.

Had 4 friends camped on red water last week, they did not see any monsters but as hot as it was I was not too surprized.

Did your friend tag out? I was turkey hunting up there this past spring and it seemed like the deer were everywhere. I thought for sure it would be good year. My step-dad hunted the same area and all he saw were small bucks and does. He said there were allot of large camps this year.

there was 5 of them and they all got their bucks 3 and small 4 points. 1 got a 4x4 with what looked like a whitetail rack on 1 side and a muley on the other. they saw a hand full of bucks each day, all but 1 waited until the last day and ended up taking smaller bucks for meat.
