Where in Canada can you have the best chance at a B&C class black bear that also has a great population of color phase black bears? Do color phase black bear even get close to B&C scores are do just the black bears get that big?
And lastly any good outfitters you’d recommend that have a reasonable price for guided hunts?

thanks joe

If you want to actually hunt bears rather than kill one with its head in a barrel of donuts, head to BC.

I've killed a bunch with the outfit below, but the past owner died in 2112. So I have no idea how the current service is. But I would almost guarantee you'll see some dandy bears.

Is that you in the first and second picture?
Yup. First is circa mid-1980s. Both of those bears are over 7' but never got mounted because I ruined the tanned hides by not storing them in a freezer. Instead, they decorate my trophy room.

Second pic is 2002, when I took my oldest son there to hunt. That's the one that's mounted life-size. I'm the one with the beard. The other is the late Roy Pattison.

Measuring the largest of the two in the 1st photo. It was just short of 8' tail to nose. When we first spotted it, Roy thought it was a grizz, which I also had a tag for. Guy on the right is Mike Bond, a longtime friend. No scale available, but we guessed at 400+

Nice! Very impressive, you’ve no doubt done well for yourself as the hunting world goes. I look back at old pictures and wonder where the time has gone. What I would give to be young again…

How time flies. Looking tat the first and second picture makes me realize that all we've got is now, and we should live the best of it so we can have a good past to talk bout while we are here and when we're gone... Nice pictures btw
So it seems you're a fraud.

Welcome to MM.

How right you are. And I cracked up at the "How time flies" comment.

Not 10 mins. before I read your reply, I had asked my bride of 60 years if she remembered the name of gal we knew from one of the outdoor writer organizations I belong to. I had to explain the time frame for her.

She said, "That was more than 40 years ago, Tony."

I replied with it, "Yeah, time really flies when you're having fun, huh?"
ddl578 is a scammer. I just reported him.

He sent me a pm about the ad I posted. I’m looking to buy an EXO K2 2000 bag and he sent me a message saying he had one and for me to email him. He then sent me some photos of an EXO pack and he stole them from me from when I had sold my pack set-up. He stole the photos from Facebook or Rokslide. He’s a fraud.

Had a feeling that was the deal. Thanks for the heads up.
