Binocular choice

I'm looking for an upgrade of my binoculars, and would like to try and keep it under $500 if possible. Of course I'm looking for the best binocular for my dollar, and here is what I have narrowed it down to:

Zen Ray ED 10x42 (around $420)
Nikon Monarch X 10x42 (around $450 on ebay)
Nikon Monarch 10x42 (around $250 on ebay)


Your opinions on these?

Of those, I'd chose the Zen-Ray. But having said that, $500.00 will buy more proven and better quality used glass if you're patient.

Leica 10x42 Trinovid BA/BN's, Swarovski 10x42 SLC's, Nikon 10x42 Venturer/LX's, Cabela's/Meopta 10x42 Euro's, all of which I've seen for $500.00 or under on the used market. Like I said, takes being patient and having the $$$$ on hand to jump when the deals come up.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but I saw a Swarovski 10x50 SLC for $700.00 this morning, which is a smoking deal!

I looked on MM classified, samplelist.com, and ebay. Where else?

Try looking in local classifieds. Some places have better opportunities than others.
