I was thinking about installing some flip-up style lens caps on my bino's. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if it would actually be practical, or if there is a better alternative. Thanks.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-22-07 AT 12:30PM (MST)[p]I have seen people use the flashlight flip-ups on binos and they seem to work fine, seems like a good idea. I just use the rubber ones that came on my Euros, but let me know how those work if you try it.

I think Butler Creek makes some that would fit okay. (2" or 51 mm outside diameter) Where would you find the flashlight style? I've never seen them before!

Check with eagle optics. They make a soft rubber flip-down cover for the objective lenses as well as a product called the Rainguard for the eyepieces. Both work awesome. You'll probably need to call Eagle eoptics with your excact model of Bino.

I went down to Sportsman's Warehouse and found some Butler Creek caps that fit. I think this will work for me.
