Biggest bang under $1k for a scope!

I have now been through 3 different scopes and have come to the realization that quality does matter in this case. I bought some Vortex binos and LOVE them but I am not convinced they have the scope thing figured out. I don't think I will ever be able to pull off a $2k scope but say I had $1k to spend how would you spend it?

What is it you do not like about the Vortex scopes?

Meopta 30mm, Swarovski 1 inch tube models, Zeiss Conquest,

Leupold VX 3, Nikon Monarch, Bushenll Elite 4200 or 6500 series

There are a bunch of scopes great glass for under 1K

My guess is he's talking about spotting scope.

Check out the Nikon Fieldscope. I checked out a prototype before they hit the shelves (obviously) and I was throughly impressed with it!
