that is definately the same antler just repositioned. hope the satisfaction for winning a contest that most people compete in honestly is worth the time it took to fabricate the pictures.

Set up or not the finished product is GREAT!!!
THANKS for sharing ROD!

Shut up elkass75! What kind of useless post was that? There aint a person on here that wouln't prefer checking out one of his posts vs. 100 of your negative remarks. Give me a break.

His pictures ARE fantastic...no doubt about that. But the ATL contest winner should be a true ATL picture not a staged photo. Nothing to get all fired up about, just an opinion, and it's not a personal slam against the photographer.

Next year, my prettiest antler will be going on a hike with me to a beautiful spot in Colorado where I can get some great photos for the ATL contest...

OK, not really...:)

Thanks to all of you who enjoyed seeing the images and thank you for your kind remarks. That is the real reason I submit a few images from time to time, simply to share with those who can appreciate them.

I usually don't get involved in responding to a lot of posts but this one is different because my integrity has come in to question in a public forum. If I understand post #6 it's been implied that I've cheated to win this contest.

I'm all for freedom of speech and everyone has a right to his or her opinions. I do have a problem however when someone makes accusations without the facts so let me set the record straight. I simply submitted my images to the "shed antler contest' not the "ATL shed antler contest". This is an excerpt from the email I sent when submitting the images.

Not sure if you were going to have a shed and scenery photo category in the shed photo contest but if so I'll throw these in. Take care talk to ya soon.

At no time did I say they were ATL and who decided they should win that category was certainly out of my control. That said most of them are just that, ATL. I took a number of shots at various angles. Do you know which ones are ATL and which ones were repositioned? Not likely unless you were up on the mountain with me that evening. But that's ok because that isn't what I was trying to show. What I was trying to portray is an image of sheds and scenery and it sounds like I achieved that judging by the comments of those who could appreciate it.

Anyway enough said, I'll forfeit the prize if it makes some individuals happy because I already won the real prize when people gave me all their kind remarks. I wasn't in it to simply win a contest, I was in it to share some photos and encourage others to submit their images of sheds and scenery. I question the worth of continuing to do it however if I'm going to be labeled as a cheater. Trust me where I get my shots I can go out any day of the week and get those kinds of images, ATL or otherwise I've got tons of them in my archives to prove it, I certainly don't have to cheat to achieve that.

Rod

Hey piss on those guys Rod, your pics are, by far, the best this site has ever seen anyways. Some of those guys are probably jealous cause all they find are two-point deer sheds their whole life. Its very clear you are not a cheater, you found the sheds in awsome country. Keep posting the pics, everyone is enjoying them.

it takes a big man to admit defeat and with that being said i would ask Mr. Sinclair who he thinks the award for the best ATL shed photo should go to. i am asking for his honest professional opinion. i guess i should not be making this big a deal out of such a thing but if the award had been monetary i wonder if there would be anyone else besides me and toughshed arguing for the rest of the participants. i obviously hit a nerve and i am Truly sorry if i angered anyone.

Well Said ROD!
Thanks again for sharing!

Rod, please don't let these pissbrains have any impact on future postings and photos. Me and about just about every other person on here truly recognize your talent and the quality you bring to this site. Keep up the awsome work, same goes for you too Tony. You guys are on top of your game.

I usually just read most of these posts and don't respond very often, but when some one with the talent of Rod's calibur is kind enough to share his photos with us I simply can't wait for next year. His posts are what we dream of beautiful country with alot of time spent looking for sheds to share with us. Please don't let some one with a short fuse discourage you from sharing some truly unbelievable photos with us. Thanks for including us once again. - Redbuck

Great photos Rod. I don't think of these photos as just ATL shed photos. These are art and should be hung on the wall. I am jealous we don't have country like that around here to take photos in.

I'll take responsibility for my comments concerning this issue. I raised the question regarding the re-positioning of the antler. Rod indicated that was the case.

I appreciate Rod Sinclairs explanation and concur that his submittal did not make a claim of ATL. I personally did not question his integrity. Great pictures and very worthy of being considered winners. No question that Rod has and will continue to find many antlers and take many ATL pictures. Obviously, anyone can submit any picture and claim whatever they want and whoever is judging the contest will never know. I certainly don't need another t-shirt and in fact, if someone really needs the T-shirt, I'll buy you one.

Personally, I come to this site to see ATL pictures and appreciate those who take the time and effort to post good ATL pics with a brief story. Those who want to post some chalky, busted-up shed sitting on a couch, fine, I'll quickly skip over those posts.

And for those who want to rip me personally all I ask is that you do it in a private message like a man rather than subject everyone to your poor behavior, like Trash340.

That's all...over and out on this issue.

i appologized for angering anyone and i meant it. i am not trying to wage a war of attrition. please forgive any assult of character on my part. it was ignorant and i was having a bad day. sorry again!

Great pictures, Love that high country, Please keep posting any and all your Great pictures, We(most of us)do enjoy them you and TF do a great job with your free pictures here, any time of the year not just hunting season you guys are posting some nice stuff. THANKS AGAIN ROD.

Love the pics.
You always seem to make the sheds "pose" for the camera.
Like they are working with you to make a great shot.

I wonder why people cant just accept these shots that people post. I know that Rod and I and others just like to post pictures here because we know that most guys appreciate the images, and some even know what it takes to get great landscape and wildlife shots and they like to look at them as much as we do.

Rod has no worries about the few that try to tear him and me down. We never have posted a single image on this site with the intention of deception. I also know that neither he or I are on here to win any contests. I for one spend hours per week helping guys out with photography and hunting the west. I cant say as much for the few that cant step up and just enjoy a good photo now and then.

I know what it takes to get the shots, Rod's a great guy and I'll back him to pine box any day of the week. He posts here for one reason and that's because like most of you, he love the land and all that it has to offer.

BTW, it also take some work to post photos on this site. I suggest that we all just enjoy them, make a comment if you like, but dont try to tear down a guy for making this site what it has become.

TF. . .

i will just say this since you professional zealots cant quit beating this issue into pulp. i will submit no more of my photos to this website. they cant compare to the subject of this post but i do find them rewarding.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments on this. I truly appreciate all the back slaps from everyone. That's what it's really about. The reality is I'm not in it for the cap and sticker; I'm in it to share images and encourage others to portray some of the sheds they find in their natural environment. Look at TFinals, Saskmans and others. WOW they are spectacular, keeps me trying to improve on mine. So let's just get on with it. What do ya say?

I believe this is the mate to a shed I took a shot of a month or so ago. Found it yesterday mid day on a hike up the side of the mountain looking to photograph black bears. Should I throw it in for next years shed entries?

This is how I found it.
