Yes, it is a good unit.........what are you hunting?

It is not bad. My brother-in-law worked there for a couple of years. The deer might be a higher caliber than their elk. I think the elk average is about 4-5 years old. Shooting a 6 point elk or 4 point deer is definitely expected. Killing giants, that would be a stretch.
